Always a hot choice ever since their 1988, the adidas ZX 9000 has been constantly reinvented by way of some of the freshest colorways on the block. These new jawns are definitely no exception, tricked out in a light aqua and shockingly bright blue. I can defintely add these to the list my all-time fave ZX 9000s. Now normally, I’d liken the day after Thanksgiving as one of the few dates on the calendar where venturing into the retail world is about as much fun as sleeping face-down in the Trinity River. But this morning I came across a Black Friday sale that has me interested. Those familiar with this site will know that I am quite the sneaker enthusiast, and one of my favorite boutiques in Dallas, aDiKt, will be having a huge sale on hoodies, sneakers, caps and tees with prices slashed by as much as 80%. And be sure not to miss the $20 shoe sale (what?). Sale will go down Friday and Saturday, 11am until 10pm at aDikt, 3839 McKinney Ave Ste 140, Dallas 75204. Get there early, the freshest of the fresh won’t last long!

Album number two from Info-Red of the Dead Stock Crew and Hypnotic Tunez bumps along with an even more polished version of the witty punchline style that this MC is known for. If you are not familar, Kaleidoscope will surely serve as a thorough introduction to Info-Red’s witty and decisive wordplay. One-liners gallop against some truly solid production work coming from Malex, Rob Viktum, Jezreal the Truth, Darkness, Black Ink Beats, and M Slago. The subject matter keeps things upbeat—we get energetic little rap snacks that, when not making you smile with the smooth punchlines are uplifting with recurring themes of hard work and perseverance. Info’s also careful to point out some of his other obsessions such as sneakers (see: Kixpo). Appearances are plenty, but the album stands heavily on the shoulders of Info and could go on to become an archival release in the grand scheme of the Dallas Hip-Hop scene based on the work he’s done here. We’ll have to see if it stands the test of time. Bavu Blakes stops by for a track, with other appearances from Picnic Tyme, Dawg Wonder, Blaze Won, and the entire Hynotic Tunez crew. Always-on-point DJs Niro and Nemeses provide the turntable work.

Sounds pretty nifty, huh? Well you can catch Info and score your very own copy of Kaleidoscope this Saturday November 8 at the Lounge, that’s down in Deep Ellum at 2810 Elm St. There you’ll also get to see Playdough, Blaze Won, Jabee, Dawg Wonder and Hypnotic Tunez perform—all for free. That is, if you’re old enough to drink. Otherwise bring five bucks.

OK so maybe I forgot for a little while with the NBA on its yearly break, but gee wiz that LeBron James is a silly one.  For the release of the Nike LeBron Zoom VI The Swoosh has teamed up with The King to make what is clearly one of the more entertaining footwear spots we’ve seen in some time. Looks like Bron-Bron will rake in a ton more money with this one.

Originally released in 1987 the first shoe to fill the category of “cross trainer.”  Popularized by John McEnroe, these shoes are now available in this great Deep Royal colorway that goes perfectly with regulation Dodgers, Rangers, Mets, or Royals caps, ‘cus that’s what kids do nowadays, no? It should come as a surprise to no one that we here at The N. Period are big fans of New Balance (now if we could only convince them to add a small punctuation mark to their logo), so without further adieu we introduce this clean grey-on-grey colorway that NB uses for the MT580 shoe — our current featured Kick of the Week. Originally released as a trail shoe by the Japanese company Mita in the 1990s, the 580 has seen many special editions in the Land of the Rising Sun due to its simple, elegant design and solid build.  Special projects by Stussy, UNDFTD and realmad HECTIC are among the successful MT580 spin-offs released in Japan, but we remain partial to these grey beauts, which we will now dub either the “Elephants” or the “Rhinos.” Let us know which name you prefer. When adidas released the ZX 800 in the mid-1980s the running world was turned on its ear with what was at the time one of the most technically-advanced shoes around.  Now, over 20 years later, the Brand with the Three Stripes proves that it has indeed created a timeless classic.  Today’s KOTW entry (late I know, blame the bachelor party) showcases the ZX 800 Lea, out this Fall in a sharp turquoise and black colorway.  More after the jump. Tell me is this sounds familiar. You’re perusing your favorite shoe store, perhaps on the internet, and you find a shoe that seems like it was designed straight from the palette of your sugar plum-infested dreams. One problem, though. The fresh colorway that is so unbelievably cool is an exclusive women’s shoe of that model. Bummer. This happens to me all the time. At the N. Period, we definitely feel the jealousy bubbling in our veins more than once a month for the often better colorways available on footwear for the fairer sex. So this week’s KOTW submission is a special shout-out to the ladies.

As a long-time supporter of Nike’s Dunk line as well as the color blue, you can imagine my dismay when I saw this outstanding combination of azures and realized that they would probably never grace my masculine feet. But never fret, I’m hoping some fresh lady will read this and I’ll see her in the streets rocking one of my dream pairs of shoes. *sigh*

So without further ado we present the Cayman/Varsity Royal colorway of Nike’s women’s Dunk Low. Enjoy all you lucky lady sneakerheads.

Sneakerheads in the know will remember all the fuss caused by the Pigeon Dunks a few years back, whose worldwide run of 150 pairs nearly caused a riot in NYC when they were released on February 22, 2005.  This naturally led to a number of fakes as people everywhere paid up to $3,000 for the chance to sport that sick grey and orange (pink?) colorway. Well now that same fresh aura, designed by original Pigeon craftsman Jeff Staple, has been transplanted onto the New Balance 575 and the results are admittedly head-turning.  This release will be slightly easier to get your hands on (144 pairs per region, 800 global distribution).  Sneaker Freaker exclusive. Announced last week, these fresh monsters are a collabo between Nike and the Roots, famed drummer ?uestlove. This KOTW selection is ?uest’s take on the iconinc Air Force 1 shoe.  In a nightmare move for driving search engine traffic, the shoe will be called the the (h)Air ?uesto 1, according to his blog.  Apparently they will be released in two colorways – the red seen here and another that has more gold detailing – on August 1.  Details on the blog includes a mention of sealed shoes?!?  For more details on that development (hopefully), as well as details aboout launch parties, DJ’ed by the man himself, stay tuned to ?uestlove’s blog.  Cool kicks from one of the smoothest dudes in showbusiness.  More images after the jump. [via Highsnobiety.]
